
Folsom's mayor is Andy Morin, vice mayor Ernie Sheldon, and three city council members. The city offers an array of services for all of its 70,000+ residents. Electricity is provided by SMUD, and PG&E provides natural gas. Folsom has a city zoo, many bike trails and paths, a community swimming pool, and many fields for soccer,baseball,basketball,tennis, and a golf course. Folsom has public sewage, storm drains, and water. Mercy Hospital is in Folsom and acts as the main and emergency medical center. The city provides garbage, recycling, and hazardous waste collection. Folsom is located in the 1st Senate District and is represented by Republican Ted Gaines and is represented by Roger Neillo (A local businessman) in the 5th Assembly District. There are many different ways to get involved with the community in and around Briggs Ranch. There are multiple churches, clubs, organizations, and charities just in your backyard!

Lakeside Church is a Christian church located at 745 Oak Avenue Parkway that meets at 9AM and 11AM on Sundays. There are roughly a thousand people who attend weekly through adult and child services.

Oak Hills Church is also a Christian church located at 1100 Blue Ravine Road and also has services at 9AM and 11AM on Sundays. They have roughly 800 regular attendees and offer child and adult services.

Folsom also offers a Chamber of Commerce which boasts more than 1,000 companies and dedicated to improving business in Folsom.
